Ferro Manganese

Ferro Manganese (Ferromanganese) is an alloy made of iron and manganese. It is an important auxiliary material for cast iron and steelmaking. Its fracture is dark gray with a blue-yellow flashing tint, due to the presence of hard and brittle Mn₃C in manganese. As a result, ferromanganese is hard and brittle. It can be used as a deoxidizer and alloying material in steelmaking. As an alloying additive, it can enhance the hardness, ductility, toughness, and wear resistance of steel. It is widely used in alloy steels such as structural steel, tool steel, stainless heat-resistant steel, and wear-resistant steel. Manganese can also remove sulfur and reduce its harmful effects. Ferro Manganese is used in the steel and foundry industries. We offer all grades and are open to producing different grades according to our customers’ requirements.

In-Depth Benefits of Low Carbon Ferro Manganese

01/

Enhances Mechanical Strength
The presence of manganese helps to improve tensile strength, impact resistance, and hardness, making steel more durable and suitable for heavy-duty applications such as construction machinery, automotive components, and defense infrastructure.

02/

Maintains Low Carbon Integrity
In applications like stainless steel, tool steel, and high-performance alloy steels, low carbon levels are critical. LC FeMn provides the necessary manganese boost while preserving the low carbon structure, essential for ductility, toughness, and formability.

03/

Superior Desulfurizing and Deoxidizing Ability
Sulfur and oxygen are detrimental to steel as they cause brittleness and weak points. Low carbon ferro manganese removes these impurities, improving steel’s homogeneity, strength, and finish.

04/

Improved Weldability
High carbon content in steel often leads to the formation of hard and brittle microstructures in the heat-affected zones during welding. LC FeMn prevents this issue by maintaining uniform softness and toughness, making it ideal for welded structural components.

Applications of Low Carbon Ferro Manganese
